Ken Buckley - bio Ken has a bachelor of science degree in physics from McMaster University where he graduated in 1985. He worked in the Tandem Accelerator Lab at McMaster throughout his degree as an operator and had his first experiences working with accelerator systems at this time. He was able to take a full time position as an operator in the Tandem Lab upon graduation where he stayed for nearly two years before coming to TRIUMF. His first position with TRIUMF was with the CP42 group as an operator where he filled in for shift operators and undertook development projects. In 1989 Ken joined the TRIUMF PET group as Tomograph Engineer and applied himself to learning about tomography and supporting the imaging operations of the PET program. When the PET program acquired the TR13 13MeV cyclotron in 1992 Ken acquired the position of Project Engineer and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all the major equipment of the PET program. He has one technologist assisting in this effort.
