Christine ("Chris") Nelson bio Christine Nelson has a BS and MS in nuclear engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. She has nine years experience in the nuclear power industry, in the areas of authorization basis management, interfacing with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and project management. She also has five years experience at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), as a safety analyst specializing in interpreting and implementing DOE safety orders, implementing integrated safety management programs, and interfacing with DOE and the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board. At LANL, she is currently responsible for developing an overall safety strategy and ESH program for the Dual Axis Radiographic Hydrotest Facility (DARHT). DARHT will include two high-intensity x-ray machines oriented at right angles. Each machine has been designed to generate radiographs that will produce data of far higher resolution than previously obtainable. The dual-axis nature of the faciltiy will allow researchers to obtain three-dimensional or time-resolved information. Christine will soon be appointed the Deputy Facility Manager for Environment, Safety, and Health for the Dynamic Experimentation Division at LANL. email: canelson@lanl.gov
