Anton Mezger - bio.

   Anton Mezger obtained his masters degree in 1982 in Solid State
   Physics.  He then started work at the Paul Scherrer Institute
   (formerly SIN) as Crew Chief.  He was rapidly involved in developing
   the accelerator control system and after 2 years he became Head of
   the Operations group (about 20 people).  Over these last 16 years,
   he developed projects in various domains : data acquisition system
   software on the backends, most of the x-window display
   applications, periodic data gathering software and retrieval
   ("Logging"), Operator-Console processor, Control loops (PID), 
   Interlock software system, ... After realising a first WEB based
   application allowing people to display periodically accelerator
   data through the WEB, he would like to replace the hand-written
   Operators Logbook with a WEB based application, which is the topic
   of the present session.
