Operations Training Program at TJNAF

The TJNAF operations group is responsible for conducting all 
operations related to the 4GeV Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator 
(CEBA) which has been providing high quality CW beam to experiments 
since 1994. We are also responsible for assisting in the commissioning 
activities surrounding the Free Electron Laser (FEL), which is scheduled to 
generate "First Light" by the end of April 1998.

The development of an operations training program which clearly 
defines the role of operations staff, provides a means to track an operator's 
progress, and provides a clear path for advancement is vital to the success of 
the laboratory.

This poster describes the historical aspects of our training program and 
details the present effort of the Operations Training Manager to develop a 
training program that will facilitate the labs effort to expand the operating 
envelope of the CEBA machine and develop the FEL.
